Editorial: El Artista Magazine
The first issue of our magazine is dedicated to young artists and their innovative and critical works. However this dedication is overshadowed by the influence of two great artists whose impact remains relevant the mythical Julia Daz from El Salvador and Fernando Valdiviezo from Guatemala. They undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping the new generations of artists who strive to occupy central positions in local and international art scenes.Guatemalans Edwin Bixcul and Camilo Almaraz as well as Salvadorans Otto Hernndez and Boris Ciudad Real belong to the first generation of the 21st century. They have been fully immersed in a cultural aesthetic and technological context shaped by globalization. While they enjoy certain facilities for creation they also face the limitations inherent in their respective cultures when it comes to shaping the aesthetics of our time and managing their works in local and international markets. In summary El Artista magazine begins 2015 with optimism and renewed faith in art and artists a sense of optimism and conviction that we share with our readers and advertisers.
