Editorial: El Artista Magazine
Other three artists and their work in their own words... Text by Mart n Fern ndez Ord ez Introduction This year I had the good fortune to receive another invitation from the editor of El Artista magazine to write about three more masters and their work. The reader may recall that in the last issue of this publication I wrote about Guatemalan artists Dar o Escobar Erick Boror and Gustavo Chac n. This time we decided not to limit ourselves to Guatemalan artists but to venture beyond our borders. For this reason we agreed to continue with the interview format and bombard an artist from El Salvador Luis Cornejo a Costa Rican Roberto Carter and a Guatemalan Erick Mench with questions. These three creators have in common solid careers being professional artists and having formed a consistent original and constantly evolving body of artistic work. Additionally both Luis Cornejo and Roberto Carter have exhibited in Guatemala and their works can be found in private collections in our country. Hailing from three different countries in the region readers will find commonalities and significant differences in their respective interviews that are highly interesting. As I wrote once before I will now hand over the floor to each artist so that they themselves can speak to us about their careers their creative processes their challenges goals and where they currently find themselves in their own artistic journeys.
